Torino are still hoping to bring another striker in before the close of the January transfer window, and could turn to Cremonese’s David Okereke if they are unable to land longer-term target Rafa Mir from Sevilla.

As reported in recent weeks, Torino have been pushing to sign Rafa Mir from Sevilla. The 26-year-old has been made available for a loan, having struggled to settle under Quique Sanchez Flores in 2023-24.

Mir has plenty of suitors across Europe, including the likes of Trabzonspor and Wolfsburg. The Turkish side have made the strongest attempts to sign him according to recent reports.

If Torino are unable to convince Mir to sign, then they will likely turn to Cremonese striker Okereke according to updates from Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato.com.

Okereke is considered to be Torino’s first choice alternative to Mir.

The 26-year-old Nigerian centre-forward notched seven Serie A goals in an out-of-their-depth Cremonese side in 2022-23. He has since gone on to make 17 appearances in Serie B this season, adding a further two league goals to his tally.
