AC Milan were linked with a few right-backs during the summer transfer window and a new profile has ended up on their radar in Arnau Martinez, according to a report.

According to TMW, Milan are planning moves in both full-back roles, starting with Juan Miranda for the left side who they want to sign on a free transfer when his deal expires with Real Betis next June.

Then for the right-back position they want Arnau Martinez who plays for the surprise league-leaders Girona. At 22 years of age he is playing at a level which has attracted the interest of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The defender is also attracting the interest of Manchester City, given Girona are part of the City Football Group, and his valuation is around €15m but it is unlikely that he will be able to leave in January.

His contract expires on 30 June 2025 and for now he is not showing any signs of being open renewing, so in the summer he will only be one season away from being free on a free transfer.

So – if it were to continue like this – Girona will probably keep Martinez in the winter window and then sell to the highest bidder in June.
