Sources: Elijah Pritchett Practicing with Alabama Ahead of College Football Playoff

LOS ANGELES — Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett was arrested in Tuscaloosa on Dec. 20 for knowingly passing on a sexually transmitted disease.

A day later, Pritchett was granted youthful offender status, leaving the details in his case confidential and inaccessible to the public.

Ahead of Alabama's matchup with No. 1 Michigan, Pritchett remains with the team and is practicing for the Crimson Tide's CFP semifinal, sources tell BamaCentral.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban was asked about Pritchett at Wednesday's media event at Disneyland in Anaheim, and it appears Pritchett's status is unchanged.

"We're handling this set of circumstances internally, and that's all I can really comment about it," Saban said. "His status on the team has not been affected to this point."

Pritchett, a redshirt freshman, has appeared in all 13 games this season for Alabama (12-1, 8-0 SEC). He was in tight competition with Kadyn Proctor early in the season for the Crimson Tide's starting left tackle spot. With right tackle JC Latham likely heading to the NFL, Pritchett could see an increased role in 2024-25.

Pritchett reportedly entered the transfer portal on Dec. 15 before changing his mind just a day later on Dec. 16.

"Transferring is not in my best interest," Pritchett said to On3 on Dec. 16. "I apologize for any and all inconveniences. I’m 100% locked in. Roll Tide!"
